Final Question & Reflection: What are some examples of active, dormant and extinct volcanoes?

  • In their copybooks, should answer the above question they wrote at the beginning of class. Share answers.
  • Ask students which type of volcano they think is the scariest. Discuss answers. I.e. maybe dormant is the scariest because you do not think it can erupt…but it still can!

Additional information

Differentiation – how do you plan to give more support? How do you plan to challenge the more able learners?

Assessment – how are you planning to check learners’ learning?

Health and safety check

Put students into flexible groupings as they do the grammar tasks as some students will need the extra support. Also, notes may be used throughout to scaffold students.

The students will be assessed based on their completion of the listening exercise – which is similar to suggested summative tasks.

Lessons will be delivered in accordance with health and safety standards.

Summary evaluation

What two things went really well (consider both teaching and learning)?

What two things would have improved the lesson (consider both teaching and learning)?

What have I learned from this lesson about the class or achievements/difficulties of individuals that will inform my next lesson?
